Marie Laveau
Out in the
courtyard, by the pale moonlight
all alone in my plight.
Down on my knees
I wept
for a lover that could not be kept.
And in my misery and
woe
did I call upon Marie Laveau.
That New Orleans Queen of
old.
Mistress of spells and fortunes, I'm told.
From out the night
burst lightening and thunder
and I could not but wonder ...
Could it
be she?
Had she answered my plea?
Was struck numb with fear
as
suddenly she did appear ...
from the night's dark fold.
A shadowy figure,
proud and bold.
Mistress of charms and curses
changing fates with
potions and verses.
Spells and fortunes she sold ...
This New Orleans
Queen of old.
Trailing along Bourbon Street,
where next we would
meet.
This figure of magical mystique ...
nodding her head in a
greet.
Suddenly she stopped.
An object she dropped.
Something left
behind
that I did find.
What ... I cannot tell
but did cast a
spell.
And unto this day
my lover does not stray.
If ever in
Orleans, whatever the reason
no matter the season ...
Watch by the pale
moon light ...
and see her you might.
Mistress of spells and
curses.
Changing fate with her potions and verses.
Marie Laveau, proud and
bold.
That New Orleans Queen of old.
This is one she just wrote for me and I am so proud of it..

Her name is Sue,
and she's cajun through and
through.
Prettiest thing you've ever seen!
She's our own little cajun
queen.
She's full of passion and fire,
of fun and mischief she'll
never tire.
Bright as a summer's day,
you'll know her if she comes your
way.
Full of love,dancing and singing,
hope and cheer she's
bringing!
She's in your heart
right from the start.
In the
bayous,
she's well known.
Love and affection
she's shown.
Hers
is a true cajun soul,
proud and bold.
In the bayous stories are
told
about Sue and her heart of gold.
In an old cajun's head
as he
crawls into bed,
all he can hope it seems
is to see her dancing in his
dreams.
Becoming a legend, our CajunSue.
Mon cher', it's true.
And
she's cajun through and through.
She's a Cajun queen, our Sue.
